The next Kindergarten field trip will be to the Museum of Science and Industry on Thursday, April 4th. The cost of the trip is $6. Please turn in the permission slip and money at the same time.

There is no school on Friday, April 5th for a school improvement day.

Winter Concert, Holidays Around the World and Pajama Day!

winter concert

A few reminders for all of the exciting winter events this week:

The Winter Concert will be held Thursday, December 20th at 9:00am and again at 1:30pm.

Friday, December 21st is Pajama Day! For a $1.00 donation, students can wear their PJs to school. Teachers will collect the donations on Friday morning. The donations will benefit the Red Door Animal Shelter, as chosen by the Student Council.

The Kindergarten team will also be celebrating Holidays Around the World on Friday as part of our “Who We Are” IB PYP Unit. From 8:15-10:30am, the classes will rotate between rooms to participate in holiday activities from around the world. If you are a Level 1 or 2 volunteer and would like to assist with this event, please contact your child’s teacher.

Winter Break runs from December 22nd through January 6th. Classes resume at 8am on Monday, January 7th.

We wish you a very safe and joyful holiday season!

Days Off, Student-Led Conferences, & Book Fair!

First, as a reminder, there is no school on Monday, November 12th, in observance of Veterans’ Day.

We are getting ready for Student-Led Conferences on Wednesday, November 14th, from 11:30-6:30pm! This is a time for your child to showcase his or her learning to you as a more authentic way to see how your child is doing in class than parent-teacher conferences. It is important that your child attends the session with you!

The Kindergarten team has decided that students will visit the Book Fair as a class to preview the items, but they will wait to make purchases until they visit the Book Fair with you either on Conference Day or after school throughout next week. If you have already sent in money with your child, your child’s teacher will return it to you. Please note that tax is charged on purchases, so come prepared!
